Request a quote

Put the print in front of the people who can build it.

Send a drawing, a specification, or the manufacturing problem. IRD's applications team will review the material, geometry, tolerances, inspection requirements, quantity, and schedule together.

Prefer to talk it through first? Call 320.693.7217 and ask for an applications engineer.
Project details

Start with what you know.

A complete print is useful, but it is not required for the first conversation. Include the application context and the requirements that cannot move. The team can flag the questions that need answers before a quote is responsible.

Do not include passwords or unrelated personal information. IRD will use these details to review and respond to this project inquiry.
What happens next

A technical review before a commercial answer.

There is no responsible shortcut from upload to price. IRD reviews the manufacturing route and the open questions first.

Dimensional inspection of a precision optic at IRD Glass
  1. 01

    The package is reviewed

The team checks the print, material, critical features, inspection requirements, quantities, and requested timing.

  2. 02

    Gaps are identified

If a tolerance, material callout, datum, coating requirement, or application constraint needs clarification, IRD asks before assumptions enter the quote.

  3. 03

    The route is evaluated

Machining, grinding, lapping, polishing, coating support, cleaning, inspection, and repeat-production needs are considered as one process.

  4. 04

    The team follows up

You receive the questions or the commercial response through the contact details in the submission. Straightforward geometry moves quickly; a new material, coating, or inspection method takes longer because someone is actually checking it.

Direct contact

Talk through the problem first.

Some components begin with an operating condition or a failed process, not a finished drawing. Call the main line when a conversation is the better starting point.
