Cut, shape, grind, drill, polish, machine, coat, and assemble glass and ceramic components to project specifications.

In-house machining

CNC processing and specialized fabrication equipment help IRD customize precision materials with control and speed.

Quick-turn basic coatings in-house on two e-beam chambers and a DC magnetron sputtering chamber — AR, high-reflector, HLDT, beamsplitter, notch, BBAR, and metallization across UV, visible, and IR.

The certificate covers both Minnesota facilities. The quality system is certified — an individual part is not, which is why every print gets its own inspection plan. ITAR-controlled work is manufactured and stored domestically.

IRD does not design optical components. It works with your designers on manufacturability, provides a no-cost DFM review on a new design, and then quotes prototype and production volumes separately.
